Delete the thread, fine, SEC officials are the worst.

The no pass interference call early.
The phantom holding call on the return.
The ball looked to be coming out before it hit the ground and why did they say that he was down before when no other body part had hit the ground?

I was at the game and don't have the benefit the TV people do. What I do have is that I saw crap you didn't because the TV view is limited but I can see all 22 players. Ole Miss held a lot that wasn't called and you didn't see on TV.

Two SEC losses now caused by SEC officials not calling the game fair. If I were rich I really would pay a pretty sum to excise the ghost of Bobby Gaston.

As for the defense, the Ole Miss offense is really good and has put up points on everyone and the D played well enough to win. We MUST GET POINTS when we were up 10.

Another question I have is, we ran a third down roll out play that ended up in a sack both times. What was that supposed to be? In the stadium it looked f'ed up from the beginning.
      +1.

+1. I sit in the endzone so I have no idea, but it's consistent with the fact we got hosed by the zebra team. UK vs Landsharks we win. UK vs. Landsharks plus Zebras we lost.

That WAS a hold on the KO return John. Rather easy to see. As was the fumble after multiple reviews but it was very close.

Here’s the thing folks. We haven’t had a good defense since the Brooks era. Our defense stinks, has for nearly a decade. Don’t know how to fix that but recruit BETTER players, bigger faster linemen, bigger faster linebackers and bigger faster d-backs. Watching the Bama LSU game shows you the type of talent we need to win the SEC, and yeah I am tired of the lame lament, at least we are going to a bowl. That mindset is a MAJOR part of the problem at UK. With all that said if our staff had a killer instinct or a set of stones this club would be 9_1 right now instead of 6-3 despite our defensive short comings. Two of our losses we got a lead and played not to lose , which is exactly what we did.

No it wasn't. They showed the replay on the board so I did get to see that. I don't trust your opinion because of what you said in the UTK game thread.

We might not have the best defense, but neither did they. This isn't about having a great defense. This is about playing better football. We did that today. The landsharks played well, but we played better. SEC piss poor officiating has cost us two games this year. PISS POOR.

Why is it that when we play a team from another conference with their officials when the game ends I think, "that was pretty fair"? Even when we lose? Then we play a close loss against an SEC team I always find they were disastrously awful? Because they are a disaster. SEC officiating is special. Short bus special.

                    Bobby Gaston made this so.

Amen bro. This coaching style has hurt us and cost us 2 games.

But, we've won 6. Do the coaches get credit for those?

On the first one Johnson went to Gran and said "What happened?" Clearly some miscommunication.

You just completely contradicted yourself. You said the ball looked like it was coming out before any other body part hit the ground. That might be what it looked like to you sitting 30 rows up from the field, but his elbow was clearly down before the ball came loose. You were too far away to tell. Then you go on to say you could see crap that we couldnt. So, if you were too far away to tell it was actually a fumble why do you think you were close enough to see other stuff? The officials were literally right there. There was holding on the kickoff. Unless you are capable of focusing on all 22 players at once (you aren't) or they showed a replay of each player from the beginning of the play to the end (they didn't) then you can't say there wasn't holding because you didn't see it from 100 yards away. How upset would you be if an official threw a flag from our 10 yard line because he saw a penalty when the play was on their 15? Would you be ok if an official called a penalty from 75 yards away? No. You wouldn't be. And when asked why you would say "There's no way he was close enough to see." Both teams get away with calls every game.

Get over yourself. Why in the world should we trust your opinion? They showed a replay of the holding call but not the fumble that they reviewed for five minutes? Give me a break. It was a hold. It was a fumble. You aren't a better judge than the referee.

Two comments: personally, I'll consider six wins a step backwards, from last season, not progress. Also, to play poor Stephen Johnson, in he shape he's in, Barker and Hoak must be terrible.
