I just have one comment on the disputed fumble. Yes, after review, i agree with all of you, it was not a fumble. But, if he never fumbles at all, i am of the opinion that more time would have run off the clock. The long review saved Ol' Miss some significant time, i think, and allowed them to re-group for the last few plays. But, i suppose it also allowed our defense to re-group as well. Who knows? I just think that in hindsight, it may have benefited us if the ball never came loose at all.

If UK can punch in a TD there I think there's a good chance Ole Miss gives up. But UK football strikes and well you know what happens. Just another in a long line of disappointments. Bottom line is that UK's defense just isn't that good. It may be better than last season but only marginally. You saw what a poor offensive team like Tennessee did to them last week and now Ole Miss had their way most of the game. With Johnson really beat up and Snell taking a beating today I'm not sure how UK is gong to survive the rest of the season.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

Can't really say what would have happened if the ball hadn't come loose. However it did gain a first down which would have stopped the clock until the chains were moved. In all likelihood OM would have lined up and spiked it just like they did once the ref set the ball and wound the clock after the review.Comment

Coach...."inexcusable....on me....we will get it cleaned up"
okay.
I' m starting to think whatever needs cleaning up is beyond the coaches. Sorry, just the refrain isn't changing.
the secondary was supposed to be our most talented group.
I'm wondering now if our defensive coordinator needs help in the same way Eliott did.Coach Shannon from Florida may be available at years end.
I kind of doubt he gets offered the full time gig there.Comment

I'm going to say this, and then I'm done for the night. Normally, I don't say much about the officiating, and I'm of the opinion that you can never single out one play or player as costing a team the game. Having said that, I'm getting sick and tired of missed calls, that a blind person could see, influencing our games. First, it was the no call, in the Fl. game, where Elam was obviously held as he was going for Del Rio and tonight, in the first qtr., Gates put C.J. on the ground, at about the Ole Miss 15 yard line, with an official standing standing at the goal line watching. Even the announcers said the play had touchdown written all over it.👍 1Comment

Well, I will post my last rant on this and give up.
we are currently in a tie for second in t h e SEC east. Just got beat by the worst or second to worst team in the SEC west.
I actually have no big problem finishing this season with as few as six wins. heck, I've seen the Cats sit at home too many years.
as a fan these are the things I have a problem with
watching teams March the whole field in the last two minutes of halves or games and score.
having to HOPE for a turnover to stop a drive
watching teams either play pitch and catch all day or heck just run it straight at us for five yards.
watching defensive backs being wide receivers running routes
deciding to play as slow as possible to get a clock to run
Watching the head coach melt down over a questionable call when keeps stating the kids need an even keel.
so yes I have a lot of problems as a fan. Going to some bowl somewhere isn't one.
Aww, shucks.
goodnight guys.

I'm going to go against the grain and say the coaching staff performed rather well and deserve the lion's share of credit that we have gone from unable to win any sec game to being competitive in most. It was failed execution on the 4, 3-and-outs that cost us the game. NOT PLAY CALLING. As for the defense, the Ole Miss offense is really good and has put up points on everyone and the D played well enough to win. We MUST GET POINTS when we were up 10.
Another question I have is, we ran a third down roll out play that ended up in a sack both times. What was that supposed to be? In the stadium it looked f'ed up from the beginning.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... After the 4th 3 and out with the same roll call of plays, it was obvious this staff was playing not to lose. They were hoping to kill clock. Now I am no football expert. None of us are. But it was painfully obvious what the staff was doing. That is a recipe for disaster in this league. While the SEC may be down, do you think teams have forgot how to win? This game was swung on our 4 straight 3 and outs in an attempt by our staff to try and win the game. Ole Miss, like most of us, read it in yesterday's newspaper. As they should have as we have been doing it all season. How you guys don't see that is mind boggling.Isaiah 5:20Comment

As for the roll out play? Yeah, let's run that with our hobbling QB. Just a terrible string of calls. And that spelled our doom.Isaiah 5:20Comment

Best post of the day. The OL had been good all game until those 3 and outs. The play calling was OK, the kids just didn't execute for whatever reason. Johnson was favoring his left leg/ankle a lot of the game and some passes were high. On those roll outs he looked lost.Isaiah 5:20Comment

I understand s lot of posters are very critical of the coaches, but I will take this staff over any Joker or Curry had. Are they perfect, no, just like the officials. They do their best to get our kids ready to play each game, but sometimes things don't work out the way we want, but that's just the way games are. We have a winner at QB, and he was injured last week and pulled out a win, while today he wasn't able to. I can't wait until next week.John 3:3
