    Summation of Monday presser

    Sorry, can't provide a link.electronically challenged.

CMS three open receivers in two games is my fault. Not a communication issue. Head coach's fault. Will get fixed.
will give Drake Jackson a look at center and Bunchy at guard to see what happens.
does not question not passing in third quarter. Brings up goal line incomplete, sack, sack.
team will be disappointed, but coachable and has several strong leaders.
EMU strong fundamental no frills football.
can't make substitution packet drills on goal line.

repeated more than once he had been coaching for thirty years and can never remember three uncovered receivers and has happened three times this year. Accepts responsibility for that.

pretty much it. No plans to change Grans philosophy were mentioned, said coaches beat themselves up all weekend. Questioned about holding call, said he understood and knows but there were about a dozen times where bad execution by players or coaches swung the game as well.
(think SEC gag rule on that)

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3. I'm working on supper. My wife will be home any minute and I try to have it ready when she gets home. Check back in about an hour and, if someone else hasn't put it on here, I'll post the instructions.

I'm glad Drake will get a chance. As said in another thread Bunchy can still call the protection and Drake can snap. It might be the change needed to boost the line. It would give us another attitude with Drake and beef up our line across the board with Bunchy going back to guard and adding some depth. Plus, it could give us another four year starter at center if he works out.

On his radio show the subject of the holding call comes up... "I can't say no more" - he is pissed too!

Yeah, just a bad play on Haynes there. You can't do what he did and expect to get away with it. Trust Benny and just let him run. Unfortunately, that play sums up the history of Kentucky football. I am sure he feels bad. Hopefully he has a short memory. Keep your head up young man!

I'm blaming the ref until I see it. People keep making me do other things. Stoops couldn't say anything about it - meaning - "I blame the ref"

Just from the way they talk, I think CMS and coach Gran do as well, John. The SEC used to have a gag rule when it comes to criticising officials.
Coach Stools admitted though in not exactly these words that it shouldn't have came down to that.

last year we beat Mississippi State last second, lost to Georgia on the last drive, beat Louisville on the last play and if memory serves me right just survived a Vanderbilt throw into the end zone that would have tied that game.

Maybe the law of averages gives UK the next close one.

I think lots of them will be close, and I think we'll do well in 'em. The onus is on the center, secondary, the defense in general, and those stripes. The latter I hope never matters again, but I'm glad they know they got fingers pointed at 'em.

I"ll have to watch a replay again but I believe on that same so called holding call, the Gator defender to the left of the hole had his hand pushing into the face mask of the UK lineman. The ref that called the hold sure choose to ignore that. Offsetting penalties sure would have helped.

All we can do is hope the players and coaches do better during the remainder of the season. Nothing can or will be done about the officiating.

IMO the holding call was correct. Haynes tackled the defensive lineman in a wide open field. That gets called 100% of the time. You just can't do that.
