Speaking of Ernie Lewis, if I remember correctly, while he was in h.s., at E-town, there was a punt returner by the name of Billy Johnson. He played for several teams but I remember him from his time with the Houston Oilers. I believe he was the first player to wear white shoes and had the nickname "white shoes". Ernie was so impressed by this that he wore white cleats in h.s. I believe he was the first Ky. h.s. player to wear white cleats. If I'm wrong about this someone feel free to correct me.
