Well at least UL is down 16-6 at half-time.

The clock should have been started as soon as the chains were moved on that last play. When CS saw he wasn't going to get what's right, he reverted to the 1st down. Great try, but he wasn't going to get satisfaction. This crew is questionable at best, and are very friendly with their spots for both sides.John 3:3

Well, from here on, it's not about winning. Winning will only be possible if GT turns it over.
To me, it's about pride. These guys are dirty, and they need to be punished. The crew hasn't been effective. Their coach has flat out coached it, and it's time to get some 'get back'.
I want piles on players. Gang tackling after the fact. I'll take a few 15 yard penalties. I want twisted ankles on tackles.
I've played in these types of games before, and the only defense to this kind of play is an abundance of returned violence. It's a fine line to walk, but I think you have to cut the dawgs loose in this game. Not how you'd want to coach, but you can't win playing with rules against teams playing with few. It's just reality. If you can't rely on professional/peer courtesy, then you have to punish them with their own game.
JMO, but I'll lose some respect for the staff if the Cats come out and try to play a clean half.Comment

My officiating opinions/observations:
Should've been a tripping penalty that brought Boom Williams down once.
The td GT scored along the sidelines by the qb should have been reversed. In normal time I couldn't see that the runner's foot was down out of bounds before the ball crossed the goal line. However when replaying it in slow mo I believe it should not have been a td.
At the end of the half the catch appeared to be for a first down, in bounds. When the he went down there was either two or three seconds still on the board which may or not have been enough time for the GT offense to line up and clock it.
And oh yeah the complaining that CMS was doing after his D linemen went down did not appear to be chop blocks.

I disagree with one chop block in question. When Bell went down, a defender on the right side was rolled up on by a Tech player. That defender didn't get hurt that play, but I thought the replay made it fairly obvious.Isaiah 5:20Comment

We need to bring the pain this half or else Tech will go up 3 scores and make it just about impossible to come back qith the way this is playing out.Isaiah 5:20Comment

I agree. It looked like the player rolled him, and the blocking player pushed him into the roll.John 3:3

But that's not really a big deal. He's never made halftime adjustments. Why start now?Comment
