If you have an Amazon Prime account I believe they just put the original Westworld on there for free.

Crichton's "The Andromeda Strain" is one of my favorite novels.

          Great book.

I read Sphere on vacation two years ago. Life-changing experience. I had no idea it was that good before I cracked it open. And I rarely read sci-fi like that. Such a weird, frightening book. I remember the movie being turrible.

"Jurassic Park" was a good novel, too, if maybe a little bit slight.

I remember reading it as a kid, having loved the movie, and being shocked at some of the brutal violence.

The differences between the dilophosaurus attack in the movie and the book still stand out in my mind. If memory serves, in the book the dilophosaurus ate Nedry's sinuses and stretched his intestines across the road.

That's the exact scene I was thinking of as I was writing the post haha

I like TWD. So sue me. Don't care one bit about the gore because it is mostly background noise. I've liked the characters over the years.
And yes, some of the episodes were really bad. It happens in 7 years.

I don't read comics and don't delve deep into websites discussing the most minute details of the show. Knew nothing about it before I started watching it. I like it that way.

Controversial take: I did not care for Breaking Bad all that much (I hate movies and shows that involve drugs)and hated Mad Men which were both popular.

I recon to each their own.

Have they been talking about going to war for seven episodes or so and are now moving toward a fight that probably won't end tonight?

It will take all next season to finish this war. I like episodes like tonight, but they have to many dry episodes.
