Inclement Weather

I'm all dug out. I worked about four hours getting my Highlander out from under the snow. My wife helped with getting the snow off the car. Also did some other cleanup of the sidewalk. My back and arms are going being really sore after this workout. Now my street just needs to plowed so I can safely get out if I need to. It was plowed early in the storm and I could probably drive out if I had to. But the Government is closed tomorrow so I don't have to worry about work. They are telling everyone to stay off the roads up here through tomorrow. Just a tremendous job of digging out to do. Metro is only having limited rail service.Only the underground part will be running and then the trains will only be 25 minutes apart. Metro bus is only running from noon until 5 pm. The bus services I use has been canceled so I couldn't have gone to work if I wanted to. Just a tremendous storm. They say it is the 2nd biggest snow fall for Dulles Airport at 29 inches. I think at my house we had every bit as much as 2010. The snow was up to my waist and I am 5-11. So that would be about 30 inches or so.

Glad to hear this MD. We old guys have to be careful shoveling this stuff. I still do it,but take a lot of breaks.

I was dreading it, thankfully I didn't have to do it. I have a lot of driveway and the snow was deep and heavy. That's a recipe for an injury. I have a friend that lives next door who is 13 years younger than me and he hurt his back trying to clear his driveway off.

It's supposed to be 47 here as well with rain tonight and tomorrow. If so, most of this should be gone by tomorrow evening, and not a minute too soon for me.
