There was a line of people on either side of the drive path pushing folks trucks to keep them going and not slide into campers, tents and whatnot. Guys in these fancy big new/older trucks and they needed all the help they could get. Nobody had to lay a hand on my truck. I'm gonna miss her when I get rid of her in a few weeks. Time for something newer and nicer.

Even though you're going to upgrade, you might want to consider keeping the Jimmy as well. It's been my experience that newer and nicer isn't always better.

Back to the weather, the NWS has reduced our Winter Storm Warning to a Winter Storm Watch. They're still saying we're going to get some sleet and/or freezing rain along with some snow. I'll take snow any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. I'd rather drive in a foot or more of snow than on an inch of ice.

Well, we've been upgraded back to a warning. I guess it's going to be a hang onto your seats situation.

That '97 Short Bed Chevy will have no issues, Matt Dillon. They're forecasting 10-18 inches of wet snow for where I am in West Virginia, and it sounds like good ole Johnson County will have at least a foot as well. Should be fun shoveling

It sounds as if you have some great neighbors, Uncle Dave.

I am expecting 10-14 here in Bullitt County about 25 miles north of Etown. I am off tomorrow and my fiance can work from home and we went to the grocery this week. Bring it on.

My biggest concern is the electricity going off. Anything else we should be able to handle w/o much of a problem.

They raised it then since the evening. I live in Mt. Washington.

Hey, hey, hey!!! The Federal Government, in all of it's infinite wisdom, has let us off work for the day. I wish my grandkids were here so we could play in the snow and I could fix them hot chocolate. Be safe and have fun everyone!!!

Yep, you too Uncle Dave. Just make sure you get someone to shovel for you.

I'm going to be honest here and say that the coverage of this storm is bordering on ridiculous. A reporter from Wave3 in E-Town came in with "breaking news". Her opening line went exactly like this, "We are here in E-Town and we are finally, FINALLY seeing some flakes. Some little baby flakes starting to fly around here." Man, you have got to be kidding me, right?!? Earlier they had a dude "reporting" from Lyndon Lane. He was driving to various spots around the city searching for those baby flakes. I wonder what those who get snow on a regular basis would think about this? This is really funny and just hammers home the fact that thank God I don't live in Jefferson County. Those pictures my wife sent me that was on Facebook of the Kroger in Mt. Washington was funny as well. Everybody scrambling for the bread and milk. I can MAYBE see the milk but I can definitely live without bread. Walking through the stores would've been fun just to see the look of panic on peoples faces. Panic I tell ya!

The roving reporter just checked in. "All we are seeing is dry pavement." This is great. I might just stay up for the comic relief.

I'm getting half day off in DC. Government is closing at noon. I can leave after fours hours which will be about 10 am for me. I'll leave quicker if I start seeing snow on the radar before then. They are saying 20 to 30 inches for us by the time it all ends. This area will be shut down for a while. I'm sure the Feds will be closed Monday and maybe Tuesday. We have all the supplies ready at home. I just hope the electricity doesn't go out. Other wise we will be fine.
