Ralph Garr was called Road Runner but I'm thinking he played quite a few years before the Cardinals teams LH is referring to so not sure if that is the answer or not.

I believe you are correct. Garr mostly played for the Braves in the late 60's and into the 70's IIRC.

If he also had a nickname of "Gibby," he would be one of the greatest pitchers ever and played for my Cardinals. Bob Gibson.

The "Little Colonel" was one of Pee Wee Reese's nicknames.

Now that Miller Huggins has been mentioned. Why was he called "The Waiter?"

Little Colonel was Pee Wee Reese
                      Have no idea on Huggins
Just a guess did it have anything to do with him "waiting" on Babe Ruth

Huggins had a reputation of being very patient when at bat, and was walked a lot. They nicknamed him "The Waiter.

Never heard of this one. Just going from this answer possibly Eddie Gaedel? Think I remember reading he had one at bat and it was a 4 pitch walk.
