I've seen a lot of friends posting over the last few weeks from their travels to the Gorge. I love, miss living in Lexington, and want to live there again for a number of reasons, but not the least of which is the proximity to the Gorge.

Are there any good hiking destinations in southern Indiana or southern Ohio other than Clifty Falls?
Are there any outdoor destinations anyone would recommend in southern Illinois other than the Garden of the Gods?
Has anyone here been hiking anywhere in southeastern Missouri?Comment

There are a bunch of smaller nature preserves in and around the Cincinnati area, but no real rustic places in the city.Comment

I just came back from a two week roadtrip to Montana and Wyoming. Here's a link to some photos of Glacier National Park👍 3Comment

Thanks for sharing. Glacier National Park and Montana are a favorite of my inlaws. He was in the airforce in the early 60s and was stationed in Montana from '63 to '65. They've made numerous trips up there, most recently last summer.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Heading to the Gorge next weekend. Small chance of rain as of now but damned if we will let that stop us. Base camp is Koomer and we plan on Eagles Nest Saturday. Probably crazy because it is SO FRIGGIN WET but we ain't cancelling unless it is calling for too much rain. We have our supervisor going with us. He's never been Gorging or camping even and he is all jacked up. The Nest will more than likely be put on hold unless it dries out ( WILL IT EVER!!!), but we can do some very easy flat hikes so he can grab a taste of the RRG life. I have cabin fever so bad you have no idea. If any of you are near the area and it isn't raining, come on by campsite 39ish for some killer food and good company.Isaiah 5:20Comment

Did our trip this weekend. Rain kept us away the last few weeks. We hiked up to Eagles Nest. Rough trip back as the trail by the river was muddy and debris on parts of it due to high water but the river had already receded quite a bit and we managed. That trail in those conditions proved how valuable a good walking stick is. At least for me anyway. It was a perfect hiking weekend. Rained a bit last night but wasn't when we left at 7 this morning. Gonna try and throw some pics up.Isaiah 5:20Comment
