Louisville Has Had 151 Overdoses in 4 Days

    Scary stuff.

Louisville emergency crews responded to 151 calls of overdoses over a four-day span. CNN rode along to get a glimpse of the growing heroin crisis. “He’s blue,” one 911 caller says.

Need to stop enabling these people. An EMT on Wave3 a few weeks ago said be has revived one guy twenty times. And I am not in the camp that it is a disease. If you have a disease you personally can't change it yourself. That's what Docs and specialists are for. I have read stories of people who quit various drugs for good. If you want something bad enough you have the power to change your situation. Nothing anyone says about this will sway me. Disease? What an insult to those that really have one.

Personally I believe if a person is addicted to anything, they made a bad choice to begin using or drinking, but once they're addicted they don't have the strength to stop but need spiritual assistance to overcome it.

So sad and scary for sure. What can be done about it? Education? Warnings? I have 2 grandsons. 21 and 19. Thankful they have stayed away. I'm sure it isn't hard to get if you really wanted to.

We had the same thing here in Cincinnati a few months back. The cause of the massive spike here was heroin laced with fentanyl in way too high of a quantity.

Read Sam Quinones' Dream Land if you want a better understanding of how this problem began and why it's so prevalent in our area.

One of my oldest friends OD'd on heroin in Lexington a few years back. Died that night.
