Mike Tomlin steps down as Steelers coach

Mike Tomlin has stepped down as Steelers coach, ending a 19-year run in Pittsburgh during which he never had a losing season.

Shocks me too. Sometimes things just run there course.

I gotta believe he'll have another job if that's what he wants.

For another guy, the Steelers job would instantly vault to the top of list of dream jobs -- just incredible stability in Pittsburgh

Seems like the Steelers kept hitting a ceiling under Tomlin these past few years. Successful - yes. But, it's been a while since they even made it to the AFC Championship game (2016). Having winning seasons and going to the playoffs year after year is an historic accomplishment. Steeler fans, I'm guessing, got so used to it that it was no longer enough. They wanted playoff victories, SB appearances, etc. Don't know if his 'system' is ideal for this day and time but was steadily successful for 19 years.

If he wants another job, he'll have it in a skinny minute. Surely he's socked away enough dough that he could migrate up to the TV booth and make life a LOT less stressful.

Being a Bengals fan makes me despise the Steelers, but I have to admit I sure respect that organization.

It appears Tomlin is headed to the Giants.
