    Football Question # 17.

Fourth and 18 for team K from its own eight yardline. Just after the ball is snapped, guard K1 is flagged for grasping and twisting the face mask of defensive tackle R2. R3 catches the ball and is downed inbounds at team K's 44 yardline. Team R accepts the penalty.

    A. The clock starts on the snap.
    B. The clock starts on the ready.

The correct answer to Football Question # 17,

is A for NCAA and B for HS.

RULE 3; Periods, Time Factors and Substitutions.

SECTION 3. Timeouts: Starting and Stopping the Clock.
            Starting and Stopping the Clock.
            ARTICLE 2.
            d. Starts on the Snap.
For each of the following, the game clock is stopped on an official’s signal. If the next play begins with a snap, the game clock will start on the snap:
            8. A delay in making the ball ready for play is caused by both teams (A.R. 3-3-1-III).
