Kentucky earns fourth consecutive bid to NCAA Tournament

Kentucky was riding the bubble wave for most of the last few weeks. Things got intense over the last week after a one-and-done performance at the SEC Tournament. The wait finally ended on Memorial Day when the Bat Cats received some good news from the selection committee.

Nick Mingione‘s program is headed back to the postseason. The Bat Cats have received an at-large bid for a fourth consecutive year. Kentucky will open play in the West Virginia regional. UK will face Wake Forest in the opening round.

      Does anyone know?

FIRST, let’s win today to have the situations I’m setting up.
After we win where do we go?

Let’s assume what we’re all cheering for is that UCLA loses their bracket (very possible given they’re in the losers bracket)
The #2 seed out there (VA Tech) is already out.
If the #3 seed Cal Poly wins, we’re also a #3 seed. Yet do we go out there given they’re coming out of the higher seeded bracket (UCLA was #1 overall, WV was #16). I could see this being the case.
But let’s go into dreamland. If St Mary’s, the #4 seed wins, do they come to us?

      Just curious.

But first, let’s win and advance.
