Kentucky Baseball has landed five players from the transfer portal so far this offseason; all five have been right-handed pitchers, a clear sign that Nick Mingione is focusing on his bullpen. The latest is Loyola Marymount transfer Ryan Mullan, who announced his commitment to Kentucky this afternoon. The rising junior will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Mullan sat out the 2025 season as he recovered from Tommy John surgery, which he had in November. As a sophomore in 2024, the Chino Hills, CA native pitched in 35 games (the seventh most of any player in America), totaling a 3.77 ERA over 45.1 innings and 49 strikeouts. He held opposing hitters to a .236 average. As a freshman, Mullan pitched in 12 games, finishing with a 7.07 ERA. That year, Loyola Marymount won the West Coast Conference title.
