Following its walk-off victory in the opening game of the series, Kentucky fell to No. 9 Ole Miss 3-1 in game two of the Friday doubleheader. Both teams were tied at one apiece until the top of the ninth inning, where Rebel pinch-hitter Campbell Smithwick propelled them ahead for good with a two-run home run.
The Wildcat offense cooled off tremendously in the second game, as they totaled just one run on four hits. Just three different Kentucky batters totaled a hit, while Patrick Herrera was the lone batter with two.
Kentucky and No. 9 Ole Miss will now meet in the series finale on Saturday to determine the weekend winner.
