    Big Loss to LSU

Welp, that was a hot mess. UK shut out 0-11 in 8 innngs. Better get something straightened out before the next game.

Thanks Matt. I knew you would post the link. I was so disappointed. Not so much at the loss as how bad a loss it was.

We couldn't hit the high fastball, and our bullpen threw balls that looked like they were very easy to hit. Very disappointed.

Absolutely. Their starter was throwing 93 mph and we couldn’t touch it. Even 3rd time through the order. That won’t work for a post season run.

Someone, on X, suggested that, since Arky and UT joined us in the losers' bracket, all three schools just might not be all that interested in the SEC Tourney and are saving their best efforts for the big tourney.

Sheesh! Where have I heard that before? Not good enough. What about a higher seed in the big tourney?

But you can't save pitchers or at bats. I was always taught to play your best every game.

Today’s win was pretty impressive. Gave (arguably) the best pitcher in college baseball his first loss of the season. Now we’ll play the loser of LSU/South Carolina.

The thought had crossed my mind. But the regionals start Friday the 31st. One could play the SEC championship game this Sunday and have all their pitchers fully rested by Friday. Personally—I’d hate to have no at bats for over a week going into the big tourney. Baseball is a game of rhythm. Especially for hitters. For pitchers it’s important to have a well rested arm so that you have your best velocity and spin rate. But even pitchers do not need to be going 8 or 9 days between facing live hitting. I hope we keep winning.
