Kentucky softball earns 16th-consecutive NCAA Tournament bid

Even in a relatively down year for Kentucky softball, the Wildcats have plenty to celebrate under veteran coach Rachel Lawson — who has now led the program to 16 consecutive NCAA Tournament selections.

Despite losing in the first round of the SEC Tournament to enter the Big Dance with an underwhelming 29-26 record and 7-17 in league play, the NCAA Tournament committee believed in the Cats enough for an at-large bid as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Clemson Regional. They will begin their run to the Women’s College World Series on Friday.
