I saw Cal has an in home visit with Knox tomorrow. Anyone know about our chances? I don't know much about the kid, can someone fill me in?

He's the kind of player that Cal has struggled to get since he's been at Kentucky: a big, athletic wing.
Knox is down to Duke, UK, UNC, and Florida State. He's from Tampa.
He's a heavy Duke lean...but we've entered an era where a lot of these kids are leaning Duke now. Duke has jumped UK to become *the* school all of a sudden, in part because of the title but also because of the huge haul they just got this past season. -
One and done has negated Coach K's age, and obviously he's more successful than Calipari has been at the collegiate age. Still Calipari has a vastly greater rate of success for players earning large contracts and that cannot be overlooked. We might seen UK wane slightly in terms of popularity, but we're still the major commander of attention.Comment

I got to see Kevin Knox play his in town rival Jesuit 2 weeks ago. He seems to be a great kid with a great heart to win. He played unselfishly, and I would say almost to a fault but I'm convinced that he is following his coach's instructions. He dived for balls 3 times in that game. He has a great outside shot with a quick release, and he isn't afraid to play defense. He scored 24 and had 18 rebounds in a 10 point win. He's long and lean and played on a even keel despite being hacked quite a bit.
Did you know that John Wall hosts an Invitational Tournament at the Dean Dome? The Tampa Catholic team got the royal, VIP treatment to play at the event, clearly invited because of Knox. I don't understand why Wall would host the tournament there since it clearly gives UNC a leg up on recruiting IMHO. I know he's from NC, but it is still bothersome to me.Comment

These high school and AAU organizers are always looking for corporate sponsors. I'd assume that Wall lent his name to the tournament well before Kevin Knox signed on to play.
And I really doubt Carolina gets him in the end, though I'd rather he go there than Duke.Comment

We will be lucky just to add Bamba, and that's about it. Going to be a great class but unfortunately a class without many pure scorers other than Diallo. That's why Knox would be a great addition because he is a good scorer, at least what I have seen of him.
If Cal lands Knox and Bamba it would be the craziest thing he has done yet.👍 1Comment
