Is next year here yet? I'm not writing off this season by no means but I just have this feeling that next year we are going to be special.

I feel ya...after the stressfulness/awesomeness/disappointment that was perfection last year combined with this season's nonsense so far, I am just not feeling UK basketball right now. This will be the first season since 1996 that I won't go to a game (unless they end up in STL for NCAA tourney).

I thought going into the Harrison's freshman year that team was going to be crazy good (they were at the end) and this year, etc... I know next year on paper certainly looks like a complete juggernaut but I will temper expectations until I see it. #1 to unranked in 2012/2013, #1 to unranked in 2013/2014, #1 to (soon to be) unranked this year. I'm not going to set myself up for that again.

Crazzed, buddy, I have a feeling that you never set yourself up for much of anything in the way of positivity. Mr. Rogers you ain't.

In your mind are you the most negative poster on all the message boards? I read all the message boards and I think you might be. I've never seen punishing, consistent, almost universal negativity like you bring out--good times and bad.

It's awe-inspiring and needs to be scientifically studied.

And I know I (and others) have asked this, but:

Why be a fan if you're going to be that down about the team virtually all the time? Why follow the sport like that?

It doesn't make any sense. It's like this thing hurts you more than it brings joy. I have to know why you do it to yourself.

With UK football I certainly understand negativity like that. We've had decades of psychological punishment.

UK basketball? It boggles the mind. We follow top 20, Final Four teams, at least post Gillispie. How could someone be that down about this?

I am not sure what amazes me more: How he is always negative or how bad Briscoe is at free throws. I would be willing to bet after winning the title in 2012 he made the comment of "it sickens me that we only won by nine."

I just don't know why you're a fan if you're that pissed all the time.

There are so many less stressful things to be doing. To go out and try to scour to find stuff that's negative--trends, stats, omens--defeats the purpose of actually rooting for a team, doesn't it?

And it isn't like we're watching teams that are mired in mediocrity or anything. It isn't like we haven't been to a Final Four in years. Or can't recruit.

This is at the very least the second best era of the last forty years to be a UK fan.

I understand worrying about the team. Or vexation. Even anger.

But to constantly look for it? Don't get that. Need an explanation.

I work with a guy who is the same way. No matter what he finds a negative. During the holidays they gave out 10 or so pound hams to everyone (roughly 300). This guy was literally stomping around, cussing...."The cheap SOB's. Is this all they can do for us?" I really don't think he has the ability to be positive or grateful. Some people just have negativity bred into them and it's all they know. I remember reading in another thread somewhere here that "it could be raining vag and he would get hit by a weiner". Kudos to whoever wrote that as it's one of the best lines I have ever heard. And sadly in some cases it's also pretty true.

No one gets it and we will never get an answer because I am not sure he gets it himself. I know he is a big time fan, but some of his stats and comments make him seem like one of those unrealistic UofL fans who only presents the numbers that make UK a bad program. Why not EVER be positive?

I like and agree with several of the above posts, and the one about Bolden makes me happy.

How did Sacha get it but Gabriel didnt? Isn't Gabriel ranked substantially higher?
