Is it time yet for rumors? Oh well, here we go. My son, who's connected with AAU basketball in North & South Carolina, reports that a friend of a friend of his in NC circles says that word is leaking out that Giles will be declaring for UK, not Duke. Reportedly, Giles is/has not "connected" with the Duke players and recruits. Has anyone else picked up similar info?

I'd like to think that rumor is true, but I just can't believe it. We all know his best buddy is going to be on that team, Tatum, and I can't imagine the other players/recruits would not be welcoming him since he will help them win games.

If he picked Kentucky it'd be one of the weirder twists I've seen in recruiting.

The experts have had him a veritable lock for Duke for months. He set up his announcement after his last visit, which happened to be to Duke. Coach K has been on him for two solid years. Somebody said on the "crystal ball" that Jerry Meyer runs Kentucky doesn't register a single vote.

Would truly be a shocker.

Would love it, but not happening. I was told Giles and Cal have a great relationship. If he wasn't from NC and hadn't been involved with Coach K for 4 years he would be at UK.

But, he will be choosing Duke in about 2 hours.

Reading a few places that KU fans think they now have a good shot at getting Fox. I don't really buy it but I am surprised he has not chosen UK already.

Last week Kansas started recruiting another point guard. Unless something comes out between now and April--i.e. Cal is leaving--Fox seems like an absolute lock to UK.

Dumb question number one, Are we in the early signing period or has that past yet?

As Will alluded Fox may just want to wait see if Cal leaves or to see who else goes pro after this season. If Ulis should come back then UK doesn't really need a point guard for next season.

The early period ends November 18th.

One thing to note about Kansas: they are notorious for thinking they're going to get every recruit. They're closely followed by UK fans in this regard. The writers over on The Shiver stoke this like crazy.

Thanks. There were reports that Giles was going to Kentucky too. This seems to happen when someone may linger just a little in their decision or when they are about to announce.

That didn't stop Briscoe from coming here. I don't know much about Fox but would he be willing/able to play off the ball like Briscoe will this year?
