STOKES TO KENTUCKY??

It could be neither. We may not get Stokes and everyone on this season's roster may not be back next season either.

I don’t think we lose everyone.

My thinking is that if Stokes signs, a kid like Kam Williams might be tempted to bolt rather than lose his starting spot to Stokes.

Right now, I expect Lowe back at PG, Johnson at SG, Dioubate at PF, and Moreno at C, with the SF spot either going to Stokes or Williams. I think Chandler will be good with starter minutes off the bench. Hopefully Williams will be okay also getting starter minutes backing up the 3/4 spots, if we get Stokes, but he might not be okay with that.

But a kid like Stokes probably demands 30 minutes a game. Going to be hard to keep a guy at the same position around, so Williams is probably the most likely to leave if we sign Stokes.

So it might be a returning Williams or Stokes.

I’m a fan of retention, but Stokes is likely a superstar.

I didn't realize until I read your opening statement that my post might be misunderstood. I didn't mean that we might lose everyone off of this year's team rather that not everyone might return.

Stokes is expected to be in attendance for KU's game against BYU this weekend. I haven't heard that we have any more visits upcoming.

I copied this from another site about Stokes. May not have any credibility but we shall see what plays out.
A little glimmer of hope for this bleak season. There’s growing reason to believe that we may be making significant progress in our pursuit of Tyran Stokes. Based on conversations with multiple trusted people, it appears that we currently have the most competitive NIL package on the table. More importantly, that Stokes and his camp are actively engaging with it.

Kansas has been highly favored for a while now and I had written any chance we had for Stokes off unless Self retired but from what’s circulating they’ve established a financial ceiling that falls noticeably short of what we’ve presented. That’s created a real opening and I’m told he’s seriously entertaining the possibility of coming here. Obviously, nothing is done and it’s a fluid situation but when you start hearing the same message echoed independently by several plugged in people, it’s hard to ignore.

This is one where Pope and UK might need to pay a little extra, and that’s okay. I look at this like Hubert Davis/UNC spending more to land Wilson.

BBN needs something to cling to going into the off-season. Right now there’s not a lot of excitement.
