I don't think Cal can offically comment on him until he is enrolled in school.

That was certainly the rule a couple of years ago. The school could not comment until the recruit had signed a LOI or enrolled. However, Cal had commented about Murray. I thought the window for signing a LOI had closed prior to his commitment and he has not enrolled far as I know. Several articles have referred to Murray as a "signee". I wonder what he signed?

Lot of people on Twitter saying they believe this is a sign that Cal is not confident Skal will be eligible.

The people I have asked have said they aren't really sure what will happen with Skal.

Definitely a project and likely a 2-3 year player. Nothing wrong with that. But, IMO, if you expect immediate help from him you might be disappointed.

I worry about Skal. I heard the same stuff when talking about Kanter. But we will see.

I don't think anyone is expecting anything big from him this year. But I think what we CAN expect is a hand full of minutes here and there to give Skal a much needed break. He is a big body so if he can grab a few rebounds and keep his hands straight up on defense he certainly won't hurt us this year. I don't think we will need as much from him as we got from Eloy, which isn't asking much.

Unless this is a sign about Skal, it seems to be a nice pick-up (assuming it happens).

We obviously needed beef, if for nothing else then for practice help. This guy certainly looks like he can add that. By the second year he and Wynyard should be the backbone of a formidable frontcourt.
