Another piece being added to the 2015 class?

Today when listening to KSR, Matt Jones brought up the fact Calipari said we might have the nation's best frontcourt in his recruiting manifesto. He said that could be very true when this class is all done, which it is currently not. Though no details were conveyed Jones seemed certain that we are going to get another asset to help out in the frontcourt. He also confirmed he wasn't talking about Tai Wynard coming in at the semester break.

I have no idea who it could be especially because George Papas is staying in Europe to go pro. Do Cal and possibly Matt Jones know something we dont? Here's to hoping they do and we get another serviceable piece to help bolster our front court.

The only thing I can thing is Chris Obepka, the St. John's transfer. But he wouldn't be available until 2016.

I'm the same, I keep up on recruiting religiously and I do not know of anyone out there, including transfers. Especially this late in the game when a transfer becomes available they are usually a hot commodity.

Austin Nichols, a forward from Memphis just let them know the other day he is going to transfer, he was going to be in the running for that conferences player of the year. But it's a mess, Memphis isn't wanting to give him a release, and even if he gets it, he would still have to sit out a year.

It's hard to keep these players a secret, and I just don't see how there is any high caliber player out there hiding out under the radar.

He said another front court player and what he said definitely sounded like a big guy. I'll be interested to see what happens, but no matter what if we can get deeper in the front court I'll be ecstatic.

Maybe we can dream that Caleb Swanigan doesn't like his cook at Purdue and decommits again.

IMHO if we get a guy that has some beef, play a little post D, can rebound some and give us 5 fouls down there, it will come in handy throughout the year.

In my opinion, that was just Cal being Cal, and Jones took it and ran with it. I doubt we sign another player for the 2015 class, especially no one noteworthy.

On Rivals they're talking about this guy.

I think what's more likely is that Cal picks up a local kid for a walk-on spot and calls it a day. Somebody with some bulk maybe who can at least be a body until Wynyard gets in here. Would be shocking to add a quality player at this point, almost unprecedented really. Would have to go back to the days of Jason Parker.

Wow I just checked him out, would be a good backup a la Eloy Vargas. I think getting a 4 star 7 footer this late in the game would be pulling a rabbit out of a hat. If he did we would have the big Haitian, the woodchopper, and the big Aussie in the front court. Bring it on!

I must admit it has been a few days since I have seen it, but when Cal added that he could have "the best front court in the country" I interpreted that to mean ... IF AP is healthy, ... IF SL is eligible, ... IF ML & DW improve as much as we hope they do over the summer, ... IF the woodchopper can contribute when he gets here. I never got the impression that he was talking about adding another body.

But not sure what Matt was talking about. I didn't hear the comments. Could be piggybacking off of Cal or he might know something. The guys on Rivals are saying they heard it like LogyCat did and that Jones thinks we might pick up one more.

I just now saw that Memphis has cleared leading scorer, Austin Nichols, to transfer. But, I am thinking he would still have to sit out the 2015-16 season.

I listened to the podcast again today and it was brought up in the first hour. The second hour people prodded about it a little bit and Jones just acted like he didn't want to spill the beans on anything. It came off like he had a good source tell him something and he couldn't let it out because of the trust of the source.

If he doesn't feel good about something he'll tell you, but when he hints at good things they tend to show themselves most of the time. I think he was being true and just couldn't divulge to keep that particular sources trust. In the mean time it gives good fodder and keeps my mind turning during the summer downtime.
