Not sure how Cuonzo Martin is doing it but it would have to hard to recruit to a conference that's literally never on television. And his lead recruiter is one of Gillispie's guys, Tracy Webster, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Well, on next Feb 15th the high at Cal will likely be in the low 60ies. And the high on July 15th will likely be in the low 70ies. That might help.

Nevertheless, I'm amazed at Martin's recruiting success. My son-in-law and family are all Cal grads and they have very little interest in bb. Certainly not a high profile program.

In the top 20 we have commits to:

LSU (2), Cal (2), Maryland, Mississippi State, Marquette, UNLV, Purdue.

Still think the Steph Curry/Klay Thompson influence is significant. Also think a lot of these schools have traditionally been held back by their ADs and presidents at making a run at some of these kinds of players, but now that Duke is on them the floodgates have opened a little. Much more acceptable if Coach K is winning with these "mercenaries."

Hang on, apparently some are saying Dakich's tweet of "Swanigan to Purdue is done" means that it is done as is in over and he is not going to Purdue.

Who knows? Regardless, this is a goofy arse class....

His hometown is about an hour from Purdue. His guardian is Roosevelt Barnes who played football at Purdue, and is very good friends with Cuonzo Martin who played basketball at Purdue. All those combined make choosing Purdue or Cal not be too hard to understand.
