    CJ to Cincy

Hate to see him go but can't fault his decision to leave UK.

He will undoubtedly shoot 55 percent from three and average 20 a game for them.

I wish him well. And, I would love to hear him tell what it's like to shoot with Cal as his coach.

Doron Lamb, Jamal Murray, and Malik Monk didn't have any problems.

True. But, the last few shooters coming here after stellar prior seasons, have had issues. I don't remember Cal screaming at the players you mention.

Cal screamed at these guys all the time, especially Doron Lamb.

I loved the guy on the court, but that dude was a knucklehead.

Cal screamed at everyone. The more one was "only a shooter" the more he screamed and the less tolerant of mistakes he is. I think that does have an effect on the CJs of the world.

Of course it does. But everybody reacts different. Personally I don't see the logic in it. I coached kids at The Cabbage Patch and Professional Softball and screaming wasn't necessary either place.

Neither of those leagues had billions of dollars on the line, though.

I didn't see Cal jump CJ Fredrick for anything in the minutes he played. I thought Cal actually liked Fredrick and seemed to appreciate the period of time he tried to be a leader on last year's team.

He arguably gave him too much rope as a shooter. Dude missed a bunch of shots last year. Just couldn't get anything going.

I really don't think that had anything to do with Cal screaming. If he was, the cameras never caught those interactions with CJ in particular. Not that I saw at least.

Now there might be a point to be made about the offense UK runs and it not doing players like Fredrick any favors.

As usual you are probably correct about CJ. But a coach screaming at players at any level is totally unnecessary, and $'s doesn't make a difference!

You don't have to scream at players on any level and any sport to get results, but it's been my experience that most coaches seem to feel it's necessary.

What sport are you guys watching? I've seen legendary coaches SCREAM and drop F-bombs on players my entire life.

It's less common now than it was, but screaming is part of the gig. During the peak of Pitino UK success, I heard him tell a player, "I'm going to rip your F--king guts out if you don't get in the F--king press."
