Figured I'd start this thread since Isaiah Miranda is visting UK as we speak, looks like this may be the first school visit he's taken. I'm sure he was hoping to see the atmosphere of UK vs UL. He is a 7'0 four star center that is ranked #32 in the country.

Thanks GoCAT... speaking of 2023, anybody watch the HS nationally ranked game on ESPN last weekend between Camden (D.J. Wagner) vs Roselle Catholic (Wilcher-UNC)?! Helluva game...Camden trailed the majority of the game, but ended up winning 67 to 64; Wagner had 25 points. -

Recruiting was hard enough before you had to also keep in mind if they are going to go to school or not. Of course you want to go after the studs, but if they decide to go the money route you can quickly be behind the 8 ball on a lot of other good recruits. It's already burned us a few times just in the short time frame this has been an option.
Be nice if the NCAA would at least give a date that a kid has to say if he is going pro or coming to school, I know that is easy for me to say and kids progress throughout a year but just like them having to make a decision for the draft they should have to decide this as well.Comment

Yes, it would be nice but I don't see how any rule the NCAA makes would work. If a player decides to go pro after the NCAA date, what can to NCAA do to stop it. It would take the NBA to make such a rule. And even then the player could go overseas and play for a non NBA team.Last edited by Los Gatos; 02-15-2022, 10:14 AM.👍 1Comment

The rules now are NBA rules, not NCAA. You're right LG, the NBA makes and changes them.Yes, it would be nice but I don't see how any rule the NCAA makes would work. Or may not be college eligible (won't surprise me to read ESPN or B/R article this summer); that program and "school" was thrown together in like 4/5 months!
And speaking of "pro-ready league", won't be surprised if we read article that no one from Overtime (glorified 5yr prep HS competition) elite was drafted!Last edited by 85 Fly; 02-16-2022, 07:09 PM.Comment

That guy’s in the next class though, right? Wouldn’t imagine that would move the needle for DJ.Makes you wonder if Cal is getting less confident about landing Wagner since they just offered his teammate?
