UK appears to be cooling on Bryce Hopkins. Not sure I like the move, since he was ready to commit to UK a month or so ago and could be a nice multi-year player.

We're liable to let him drift off, commit somewhere else, then find ourselves wishing we had him when the other option leaves us at the altar.

The majority of our scoring, yes. But -- and yes, we're UK, which renders the following prediction naive, at best -- it's possible that Jackson, Ware, and Fletcher (especially the latter two) could all stick around for a second year. Likely? Again, we know who we are, so probably not. But it's possible, and in that case we'd be in pretty good shape given our guard situation.

I hate to be negative, but losing both Juzang and Whitney soured me considerably as far being confident that we can retain and develop these guys.

A lot of people are beginning to lock in Hunter Sallis to UK. If you're unfamiliar with his game, he's consistently compared to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Hopkins thing is weird because we seem to have cooled on him and/or he seemed to have cooled on us right around the time Jai Lucas came on-board. You wonder if the staff thought Lucas brought them an in with a better player who negated the need for Hopkins.

Perhaps, but they don't seem to have made such a name public. Daimion Collins wouldn't be it; totally different players.

Which, by the way guys, Collins is the one we should all want above all others. He's going to be a phenom. There's potential there for him to be one of the highest-impact freshmen we've ever had.

We're still in it for Hopkins and the feeling is he's UK's if UK would go all-in on him. If they don't, he'll likely wind up at Illinois, with Providence being a possibility, too.

Yep. UK decided they want him. Simple as that.
