    Skal Labissiere COMMITS to KENTUCKY

This kid's background scares the crap out of me. Sooooo many ways this could go wrong.
A photo posted by Skal Labissiere (@skallywally) on Oct 10, 2014 at 3:11pm PDT By now, you should be familiar with the Skal Labissiere recruitment

If true, then it might suggest that the staff has hit a roadblock with other players. We don't need the headache Labissiere would inevitably bring.

Things are too good right now to invite the kind of trouble that would accompany Labissiere. Pull the offer, Cal, and take what you can get elsewhere. If it means a drop-off in talent, so be it. Better than vacated games in the future.

I think this kid is a nightmare waiting to happen!

Nonetheless, he just announced he is making his decision on Thursday.

Evan Daniels said, “I think he’s going to Kentucky. I think it’s done.”

I'd imagine, if true, that means Zimmerman is out.

Could be a Matthews/Skal/Briscoe/Blakeney/Diallo class. Put those guys with Ulis, Booker, Hawkins, Willis.

You don't think Lyles and/or Dakari come back?

Briscoe and Labissiere are announcing on the same day and time. Any chance of that spelling good news for the Cats?

Man...I really don't want Labissiere. Don't like his story, nor do I like the implications of his potential commitment to UK.
Clear your calendar for Thursday night: according to the Herald-Leader's Ben Roberts, both Skal Labissiere and Isaiah Briscoe will announce their decisions

With his sketchy past, you would think Sandy Bell and Cal have checked everything out.

Forgive my ignorance but what are his issues?

This explains it. Unless I'm missing something it doesn't sound too risky. I trust Sandy Bell with all of this.

Thanks for the link. That actually makes me feel a lot better about him. Maybe some of the harsh words about him are not justified? Of course, I'm an eternal optimist.

And now he's ineligible for the McD's game.
To say that 2015 big man Skal Labissiere has had an odd recruitment would be an understatement. The Haiti native came to the US in 2010 after the earthquake and

Somehow it reminds me of the feeling I had when Enes Kanter was being recruited, although there is absolutely nothing in common in those two situations. I just have a feeling that things will not work out if there are NCAA issues. But, there have been issues with UK players before that were unfounded, just the result of poor journalistic digging in the mud hoping to find something. I really hope we don't sign anyone who causes us to possibly vacate games, though.

That "school" he is attending is sketchy at best. I really doubt he will ever be declared eligible in the NCAA's. I'm not sure he's worth the the trouble UK will have to go through to try to get him eliigible either.

While I totally agree with this, I think Cal, with help from Sand Bell, know exactly where Kentucky stands with the eligibility issue. He may never be declared eligible, but if he commits, they will do their best.

Per KSR: "Parrish cites a source that says the NCAA is already building a file on Skal and his recruitment, which will end tomorrow night. The current favorite for Skal? Kentucky."
I'm starting to feel really bad for Skal Labissiere. The Haitian big man came to the US after the Haiti earthquake in 2010 via the Reach Your Dream foundation,
