I did some stats on him real quick from bigbluehistory.net - his average was 34.9%, but the standard deviation on his 3 point average was 20% (standard deviation being a measure of variance from the mean, in case you're unfamiliar).

Basically, he was wildly inconsistent.

I don't know about his shooting% because i was too lazy to look it up but i do know the Celtics waited on him and gave him time to prove he could shoot the ball consistently but it never happened, he's a been a journeyman ever since. I actually think he jump shot looks good but his confidence in his shooting just wasn't up to par, i still like James Young though...
