James Wiseman Ruled Ineligible for Next Season

Big news. This kid is a hard UK lean, and there's been talk of him reclassifying.
(Photo by Bart Young/USAB) Big high school basketball news to keep an eye on... No. 1 prospect in the class of 2019, James Wiseman, has been ruled

This could make him push even more to reclassify. If we add him and Zion and return a few guys.....

If he wants to reclassify it has to be approved by the NCAA. Wonder if this will have any bearing on that decision.

Rivals has discussed his age quite a bit. He's just 16 now, would be 17 when he enrolled. We've had some kids in that boat. I think Kevin Knox may be 17 or just 18. MKG. Booker. Goodwin.

But I don't believe he would be eligible for the NBA Draft even after one year, so if he reclassifies he'd be in school for two years.

Can he reclassify this late in the year? If so, you'd have to believe that's what he's thinking right now.

That KSR post suggested a possible risk in getting involved with him. You see anything to that?

If Kentucky got involved with Skal they probably feel like anything is possible.

              Good point.

I think about that sometimes and still wonder how we didn't get burned.

May as well watch him work.

Could be looking at our next elite shot-blocker. Might have some range in his game, too.

Would be a HUGE pick up to get him for next year. With the lack of elite bigs in the 18 class and Bol Bol looking like a Duck....we need this kid badly. We get him and Zion....wow. Can you imagine how fun next year will be? Me and the wife are skipping the SEC tourney for the first time in 5 years (who the hell wants to drive to St Louis anyway?) and only going to maybe one game so we can save up for a LOT of trips next year. I cant wait.

I'm just catching up on reading threads to chime in on this one... I watched him play in the championship game (against University) at City of Palms tournament over the holidays so that tells me the school may have been granted a "stay" if they went to court?

Was he jaw-dropping before fouling out?

Catsrock It was a good game... back-and-forth but in the end Univ was a better shooting team. JWs performance in the semi-finals was more impactful...cleaned up around the rim after a missed shot to put East up two points with seconds left on the clock.

Fyi- you can watch a lot of of HS tournaments and AAU (especially Nike EYBL) games by subscribing to Flohoops.

^^^ Flo hoops can be accessed tablet, computer and they have a phone app. I find myself at local HS b-ball games watching tournaments on my phone at the same time-Lol They will probably cover the last two HS showcases (example Dicks Nationals) for the season after McDonald's All American games.
