Kentucky Falls to Cincinnati in Paradise Jam

Maddie Scherr scored 25 points but the Kentucky women’s basketball team lost to Cincinnati 65-41 in the final game of the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Saturday.

Kentucky grabbed an early lead, 5-2, with Tyler scoring all five of the Cats’ points. Cincinnati would take an 8-5 lead before the Cats scored four in a row to lead 9-8. The Bearcats closed the period on an 8-0 run and led 16-9 after 10 minutes.

In the second quarter, Kentucky got a pair of Petty free throws to get within 16-11. But Cincinnati went on a 12-2 run to build a double-digit lead. The Bearcats would hold a similar lead the remainder of the half and took a 31-20 lead into the break.

In the third quarter, Scherr did her best to keep the Cats in the game. She scored all 11 of UK’s points in the period. However, the Bearcats extended the lead to 52-31 through three quarters.

Cincinnati would extend the lead to as many as 24 points in the fourth quarter.

Kentucky returns to action on Thursday, hosting Boston College in the SEC/ACC Challenge. The game will be played at the Clive M. Beck Center at Transylvania University in Lexington. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on the SEC Network.

You know Mitch, he won't make a move until he absolutely has to.

That's what it will take. Either that or a bunch of the players quit.

That has already happened. We lost several after last season, and Mitchell had the same issue. Come on Mitch.
