I watched the Indiana collapse in all its glory. This game was pretty amazing, more for the celebration than the game. That was a huge moment for a tiny program.

Yes they are Divison 1. The article I read was that they went D-1 in the 02-03 season. I can remember seeing them play in the Horizon League tournament a few years back when they got to the finals of it. Low major would have been a better description by me.
