Had to like the play of Mulder. He battled 2 superior guards. He made shots, he rebounded and got in the passing lanes. Hawkins looked good as well. That block he had was nice and his shot was nice. Monk had 3 Crazy dunks. Cannot wait to see Issac play with these guys. Gonna be fun to watch.
Briscoe FT shot looks tons better. His D is one of the best we have had in a long time. Same for Fox. Right now Fox / Briscoe / Monk / Bam and someone will be the starting 5. Could be Issac / Wenyen / Willis or heck could be Mulder.Last edited by Pobilly; 10-21-2016, 09:47 PM.Proverbs 25:24Comment

Mulder seemed to have really worked hard over the summer. He will give us some solid minutes when he gets in. Hawkins looked more polished as well. No doubt we have a very talented and athletic five man rotation for 1-3. Obviously the main three get most of the minutes, but we will be fine should foul trouble become an issue or someone have an off night.
Not sure what else to say about Fox than wow.
Briscoe put in some serious work on his shot.
SKJ further along than we may have thought. Hopefully he learns to play defense with his hands straight up to stay out foul trouble.
Gabriel won't score a ton but he can guard 1-4 and doesn't stop.
Still not sure who the fifth starter will be outside of the obvious four. Do we go big with Humphries? Scoring with Willis? Or defense and crazy athletic with Gabriel?Comment

One thing you notice about Bam is that he's not a center. He CAN play center, but there's going to be a learning curve. But I think Cal likes him parked down there because of the space he can create, so I think he's the starting 5.
The 4 is the tricky one. I've thought all along that it would be Willis because the team will need outside shooting. But the more I watch Gabriel...I don't know. He's raw. He's going to drive us crazy sometimes. But man he plays hard. Like, intense. The way he can guard and how relentless he is is going to help this team whether he comes off the bench or starts.
I think Willis will start through the first part of the season. Gabriel the sixth. Humphries the seventh. Hawkins the eighth. Killeya-Jones the ninth. That's as far as I think Cal will go. Mulder may get some run early on but I don't think he plays much as the season goes on. Cal loves the 8- or 9-man rotation.Comment

We will enjoy this team, but the bumps will drive us crazy because the expectations will grow as the season progresses. With actual SEC Officials calling the game, I would like to have seen them call the "Hands On" fouls like they will during the season. There were several passed on especially during drives. Cal has so many options this year with the lineup. It makes me wonder how many he will use regularly.John 3:3
