It honestly will depend on how much importance a particular person places on UK. UNC just lost #6 last night thanks to that shot, and no one has any clue if UK would have go on to win the '92 final four game, much less the whole shebang.

And as we've seen with Adolph Rupp, context tends to be forgotten with time.

Who knows, that Shot last night could have been the proverbial kicking down of UNC's Door.

Last night's shot was more important than Laettner's, because it was for the National Championship.

If it was for the semi-finals, it wouldn't be. See Aaron Harrison. But the National Championship trumps all; I don't care what probation Kentucky was coming off of in 1992, or what "underdog story" CBS was trying to promote. That shot was legendary because of the game situation, certainly, and because of the participants (Duke/Kentucky), but ultimately it was an Elite Eight game.

Last night's shot was the greatest shot ever to end a college basketball game. Period. Squared-up deep three pointer with 0s across the clock for the win. A Disney sports tearjerker couldn't have written it up any better.

            This!

I have to say, this year I went to rounds 1-4 (St. Louis & Louisville) and didn't see "the shot" a single time while in the arenas. In previous years it was crammed down our throats!
