If we make it to the Sweet 16, we are not beating UNC. The absolute worse possible matchups of all the #1 seeds possible. Our only shot is hoping someone like Providence gets lucky.
Our soft as Charmin big men will get murdered. Ulis and Murray will go off as usual but our wallflowers will be beaten to death. Same as if we got Purdue. It's our biggest weakness and its no secret. Just an awful matchup.
But you still have to beat Stoney Brook and IU. Neither are a sure thing. The IU game worries me. It will be all about how we don't schedule them anymore and the pressure on us will be enormous.
But you have to play the games. All we can hope for is that our big guys decide to show up and play like men. If they do (huge IF), then we can go as far as anyone. Let's just win Thursday and go for it. Our guys are fighting hard right now and learning how to win close.Comment

You know, Indiana is at fault as well as far as not playing us. Remember when the Hoosier Dome was where the game was always at? 50/50 split. It should be that way now but IU knows they have no shot unless it is a home and home series. IU has 8 guys shooting 40% or better from the 3. We give up a lot of 3's but I like UK in this one. I feel the same. They've really only been clobbered once on the year, and that was by Notre Dame.
Took Vandy to overtime at Vandy. Beat a decent NJIT team about as bad as we did. Were on an 18-game winning streak at one point in the season.
The big man is a 20/10 guy. Has a few games with insane stats, including a 43 and 10 game and a 27 and 23 game in the conference tourney.
Will be a hard game. Definitely do not think we rout them or anything like that.Comment

We will control our destiny. Whether it's Stonybrook, IU or UNC we have to play Defense and Rebound, and continue to shoot well. I think we will score well enough to win, but Defense and Rebounding concerns me.John 3:3

I think UK wanted the old neutral/neutral the way it used to be. Seems I remember Barnhart advocating for that publicly.
The environment was toxic in 2012. It's not like UK has dodged big-time programs. We go to UofL. We go to Chapel Hill. Went to the Phog this year.
I think the level of awfulness there in '12 kind of created a Never again mentality from the people who were there.Comment

Yeah, Kentucky has remained a mediocre defensive team throughout the season. We'll go long sections of games and let the other team score virtually every trip. When we can't rebound this just compounds it.
I don't want to look past Indiana but to beat Carolina we would have to fall into a situation like they got into with Duke on the last day of the regular season. They were up 30 on the glass but were only up 2 on the scoreboard because they couldn't hit anything. Unless we really rebounded above our heads and all the big men magically stayed out of foul trouble, I'm afraid their big guys will be able to crash in and grab virtually everything the way TAMU was doing yesterday.Comment

I woulda been happy with the way it used to be. I'd take a 50/50 split on a neutral site. We could've had that. So there is the other side of the coin. Nobody whined about a home and home back in the 90's/early 2000's. IU rushed the court in a year WHERE WE WON THE TITLE, yet they didn't wanna give up the phonebook covers and popcorn boxes. I don't want to play UNC either, but I also didn't think we'd make it past OSU in '11, for many of the same reasons we're worrying about UNC.
