    Marcus Lee

This is a must read, what a great kid!

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Shortly after Kentucky's Marcus Lee threw down a dunk and swished a free throw in last month's win at South Carolina, a 10-year-old boy sat up in his hospital bed 420 miles away and posed for a picture.

That was a fantastic read. I love reading stories like this because these are the stories that REALLY matter. Marcus has a heart of gold and I am proud to have him representing our University. It rarely gets talked about, but Cal has brought in some great guys into this program. The fact that he demands more of them than just their ability to help the team speaks a lot about his character as well.

Very good article. Thanks for posting it.

Also seems to suggest that he'll return next year. I think his leadership and energy off the bench will be good on that team next season. I'm looking for at least five to come back to give us at least a decent nucleus of experience (Briscoe, Lee, Willis, Humphries, Matthews).

Do you not expect Hawkins back next year, Will?

Forgot Hawkins. Tai Wynyard will have to be thrown in there.

Obviously not all those guys and the newcomers are going to play. It'll be the same kind of dogfight it was last year. But would really love to see Briscoe, Lee, and Willis back to provide at least complimentary roles to the freshmen.

I think Fox, Monk, and Bam are going to be ready to go right away. Not sure about Gabriel and Killeya-Jones. And we may add Bolden.

A lot of talent, but also a lot of youth. You need those older guys to kind of rivet the team together the way Jefferson and Quinn Cook did for Duke last year, the way Darius did, the way Jorts and Liggins did, the way Patrick Patterson did.

Freshmen can be your best players but you have to have some grit around them.

Good article on Lee. He is just a very good person. I'm afraid there an't many around like him. I hope he comes back next year. He along with Willis,Hawkins and Briscoe will give that team some veteran stability. Ulis would be the best one back but I guess we are all past hope of that now.
              Kentucky fan since 1971.
