Not only is Bruce Pearl the biggest WEINER on the planet, he is the most overrated, over-hyped coach in America. And spare me the "well, it is Auburn" stuff. Losing 20 games 2 years in a row doesn't happen just by accident. Hell, Tubby Smith took over a worse program at TT and made them into winners and there are others out there doing renovations on their program with coaches that have no fanfare. We actually have fans that think he should be Cal's replacement. What a joke. And yes, he could win more in a more basketball friendly conference or school but he is not some rising superstar many make him out to be.

Could any college player possibly be more polarizing than the Ted Cruz lookalike turd from Duke? That kid is going to get his clock cleaned by someone before he moves on. And if he makes the pros and tries some of his schtick there, he will likely be murdered and buried somewhere in Jersey.

Pearl has been pretty godawful at Auburn. Can't seem to keep the team from imploding. He had some injuries this year he also had a plague o' crazy for the past couple of seasons.

One amazing thing Cal has been able to do at Kentucky except for the one year is keep the team together. You don't see much infighting at all, you don't see guys who seem to dislike each other. That makes a (huge) difference.

Here's a good read on the 1979 SEC tournament. That was the first year the SEC had a tournament since 1952. UK was the Cinderella team that year and darn near won 4 games in 4 days. Probably would have won if Derick Anderson didn't break his wrist in the semi's against LSU. One of best games ever in the SEC was UK's 101-100 win over Alabama in the 2nd round.

NIT year, I'm guessing? I've only heard vague references to chemistry issues with that bunch. Always assumed it, but never heard anything concrete.

Only thing I've heard is that Harrow was hard to deal with and that affected the chemistry all the way through, but Harrow was also going through some personal stuff.

That team didn't have great personnel either, esp. after Noel went down. I mean Poythress was one of the anchors. It's like 38 years later and we're still waiting on Poythress to be an anchor. So talent-wise they were way lower than anything Cal has had here, clearly.

I saw them practice before that season and the assistants were putting them through basic drills that you see youth players doing. Cal came out and told the people attending that he'd never had a team who was that far behind with its fundamentals.

Pitt up by 6 right now against North Carolina.

Would like to see Carolina knocked off in this one. Hope they're a 2 seed because if we're going to take a 4 I don't really want them as our 1.

Of course we could jump up to a 3 and get them as a 2, which wouldn't be ideal either unless we somehow found a way to the Yum Bucket.
