Tyler Ulis is the SEC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year

Second player in the history of the league to accomplish that feat. The other was somebody named Anthony Davis.

    Well-deserved.

Jamal Murray was named first-team All-SEC and to the All-Freshmen team, but lost out on Freshman of the Year to Ben Simmons.

Calipari has now had three players to win the SEC POY: Wall, Davis, Ulis.

      Studs.

Let's hope 2016 has the same ending as 2012. Yes it is well deserved for Ulis.

Not surprised Simmons won FOY but IMO Murray had a bigger impact. LSU could have been 4th without Simmons. UK without Murray would have been NIT city.

Shocking that Johnny Jones was not COY.

One award not mentioned was the 8th man of the year award that was given to Pat Adams for his assist in helping Tex A&M to the co championship of the SEC.

If you're referring to that other link, that was just CBS's awards given by their experts.

This is the official SEC end-of-season awards handed out by the coaches.

Way to go Tyler Ulis....so deserving.....really going to miss that kid

considering what Cal done this year after losing 7 players to the NBA I thought he would have won COY

Absolutely amazing accomplishment as so deserved! We all get tired of hearing about his size because we know how he runs our team but to get defensive player of the year at his size and wingspan is extraordinary. Will miss him next year but would be nice to see him play 9 more for us!

Ulis deserves all of this. The amazing thing is his defense for being so small. He is not like Mugsy Bouges small. He may be short in stature, but he is pretty broad for his size and he has long arms as well. I just love this guy. Early on in the season, Kris Dunn was getting all the hype as the best PG. As the season has wore on, Tyler is getting much, if not all, of the love. I agree with Cal. If there is a better PG i want to see him and I need to see tape.

Dunn's bigger and is the more NBA-ready point guard.

But Ulis is the better point guard.

If Dakari would've stayed I think Ulis would've won the Naismith. We would've won two or three more games and would be squarely in the top 10, and he would've had a big man down there to suck some of the pressure away from him. Murray would've been a notch up as well.

That he did this with an inconsistent frontcourt that was riddled with injuries makes it even more amazing.
