When this many upsets happen they stop being upsets.

Most balanced field I've ever seen in the game. The 5 seeds are going to look like the 8s/9s in most years.

I think this could be the year we get a 16 beating a 1.

We've seen so many upsets that they aren't upsets anymore lol. They've been happening all year, so I think there's a strong case for the parity argument. Whoever gets on a roll at the end of the year will be the NC, obviously, and I think UK has a puncher's chance as well. One thing which will be a lot of fun will be watching so many teams really getting after it. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

I think that this is a really strange year also but I think it is pretty conclusive as to why. In a given year there's usually about 4-5 top title contender type teams comprised in two ways.
          1. Teams with good players that have stayed in college to form a junior and senior heavy roster

          2. Teams like Kentucky that have an abundance of underclassman NBA ready talent

This year is unique because even though you have upperclassman teams (UNC, Mich State, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc) none of them have shown they are truly elite teams who separate themselves. The teams that relied on freshman heavily this year took a hit because this year the high school talent that comprised the freshman class was as a whole down. Probably as down as I've seen a national class as a whole since the Archie Goodwin/ Alex Poythress class.

Put these things together and it screams Parity across the college basketball landscape.

That being said, "I like my team"

The Cats are playing very well right now. I just wish we had a dominant big man to compliment our guards.

The numbers are certainly in favor of that happening. Considering the odds of that happening it is now where it is more likely to happen that not, just by statistics. Couple that in with the parity we are experiencing and I think its the year. I am going to actually pick a 16/1 upset in my bracket, i'm convinced its the perfect storm for it to happen.

Not sure which team yet but Villanova is looking like a strong candidate in my own latest brackbusterology.

Villanova would be a very weak one, that's for sure.

Villanova always waltzes through their easy regular season schedules with a gaudy record only to be an early "upset" in every single tournament. Its hard to even take them seriously and when I see rankings or bracketology seedings my mind automatically erases them and just puts a blank space in their place.

Maryland lost to Minnesota last night. Little Rickey's boy hadn't won a Big Ten game until last night.

Maryland didn't have Stone, but all things considered that might've been the upset of the season in a season of insanity.

Minnesota is straight up godawful. Maybe the worst power conference team not named Rutgers.
