    Absolutely.

But it's hard to see anybody on this front line ever stepping foot on an NBA court, and that's hard to wrap your mind around on a Calipari team.

Got to take in the game from the friendly confines of Markey Cancer Center, and as bad as it sounds, I can't stop thinking about Skal grinning when he picked up that first foul. It's all mental with him.

In Cal we trust but it took him long enough to give Willis a chance. I understand why Willis wasn't playing much last year, but felt Willis had a great shot a playing this year. Sometimes you have to give a kid a little rope and allow them to play through some mistakes and get comfortable at real time game speed. This was the case with Josh Harrellson, same with D. Willis, could probaly be said for I. Humphries......

Thing with Willis, to me he's still a sf who can play the two spot if needed. I think Willis stands a good chance of someday playing in the NBA because of his skillset and height.

This team is hard to figure out, shows up and gives Kansas all they want on the road and then blows big leads to Auburn and Tennessee. In comes Florida playing as good as anyone in the SEC and Kentucky flat out blows them out of the gym. Very hard to get up or down for this team. If we can play our way into the NCAA tournament, it's a new season and this team can make all the wrongs become right.......

            Wishful thinking..................

I agree with this. No reason Willis cant play. He has more skills than some of our guys that have gone.

Willis is still an atrocious defender.

Plays hard. Plays mean. Will rebound out of his area. Can shoot well above average for his size. Runs the floor. Is a much better athlete than people give him credit for. Has good length.

Just doesn't defend. Guys straight line drive him all the time.

But: Murray is at least as bad. Maybe worse. Murray's ability to score from all kinds of different angles and the possibility that he could be a point guard is going to get him drafted in the lottery. Willis obviously doesn't have that luxury.

Very good win Saturday. Always enjoy good shooting.

Lots of good stuff from Murray's ridiculous shooting to Humphries hustling.

Murray is worse than anyone we have had at that position, IMO. Willis is a better defender that Wiltjer, but not sure that is saying all that much. Both are just bad at defense. But both can do offense great at times, so there's that. That's not going to get better.

I say play the Aussie more. He will foul out a lot but give him minutes.

Murray loses his mind a lot. Not a cerebral player. Does crazy things with the ball, gets totally lost at times. And doesn't have the sheer footspeed to make up for it when he gets lost.

Is a fearless player though and is very crafty in what look like impossible situations. Still think he's going to hit a huge, Aaron Harrison-like shot for us at some point this year. I think he would've won the game at Kansas had Ulis got him that basketball.

I'm kind of surprised that Cal would burn Wynyard's redshirt now.

The only reason would be that Poythress is hurting to the point he may not play much the rest of the season. Otherwise no reason to burn a year for a minimal amount of games.

Or maybe he thinks Tai won't be around long enough to graduate?

Cal knows all the why's and what's going on with this team. If Wynyard can help our pathetic front line, then bring him on. These kids come here to better themselves for the next level, and most won't be around long enough for a red-shirt to matter.
