They fired Blatt, but immediately promoted Tyrone Liu to head coach with a multi-year deal.
No potential for Cal rumors to even get started.
But... if a coach has the third best record in the NBA, the best in his conference, a shoo-in for the Finals for the second year in a row, and is prepping to coach the East All Stars and STILL gets fired on his day off in the middle of the regular season, no one is safe.

If they hadn't offered Lue, this would not have been a great situation for Kentucky because I think Cal would have jumped at the chance to coach LeBron. That being said, thankfully we don't have to worry about it one bit.Comment
