Kentucky played as well as it has all year in the last 15 minutes of the half. Have to find a way to replicate that intensity.

But it always helps when you get some threes to fall.

            14, 7, and 5 for Marcus Lee.

Still think Derek Willis had as much of a hand as anybody in that game. That block and the wild side bank three broke the game open.

              MUCH better second half.

Not crazy about a 23 point lead being cut to 14 at the end....drives me crazy

Feel bad for Skal, struggling under at a place that outs everything you do under a microscope. Cal probably needs to put him on the bench and work him back in when he's ready. Marcus Lee wouldnt have stepped right in his freshman year and dominated and neither can Skal.. ..

Skal with a donut across the board. Mercy

We won. That's good. But this is not a very good team, at least by UK standards.

I like Lee, Poy, Ulis, Briscoe and Willis. Everyone else off the bench.

Murray was awful today as well. Don't care how many points he got.

Lee was awesome. Really plays hard. Willis had a great game.

When we just run and weave we are much better.

Good win. Needed it - especially when some picked the upset.

Just be glad Skal got his eligibility issues worked out. I'd hate to have to do without his contributions.

It's time to admit one thing, Skal is not a prospect, he's a project.

Has a much higher ceiling than most projects, but he lacks in so many areas that it applies.

He's a two year player, at least. And THAT, only with a strong finish to this season and an off season of maturation and confidence building.

I kept asking where Derek was and saying we needed him in there badly....especially against the zone. Cal seemed bound and determined to play everyone but him. But when he did...the game changed. Willis hustled and made great momentum swinging plays.

It reminds me of every Cal team except last year, 2012, and the Wall team in that it goes through stretches where things just get fugly. They don't know how to stop the bleeding and when things get bad, they get really bad.

I thought Murray had a solid second half. Hit some shots. Had the two really good assists to Lee. Kind of controlled the game. But he's a microcosm of the team in that when he starts getting wild, he just falls into complete disrepair.

Veteran teams don't go through that often. They hold it together. This team when it loses focus looks very pedestrian. The shooting woes exacerbate it.

But they're able to put together 4-, 5-minute stretches in games where they look like they could be really good.

Have to find a way to cut out the sections of the game where they lose control.

I gotta ask one thing. What more does D. Willis have to do to get real minutes?
