Jamal Murray considered best small forward in college basketball

According to the Sporting News. But their credibility takes a big hit when you see they have Ulis as only the 7th best point guard.

Never mind the fact he entered college basketball as a point guard, Jamal Murray is considered the best small forward in America, according to at least one college hoops website. The Sporting News ranked Murray No. 1 on its Top 10 Small Forwards List, released this morning on its website. Murray beat out Duke’s Brandon […]

Murray may not be now but he has a good to be that by the end of the season. I watched him the entire Pan Am games and he was awfully good. He's not afraid to take the big shot when needed and can do just about anything on the court.

Ulis is 7th is because he didn't get as much playing time as he probably should have last season. By the end he will be a top 3 point guard if not the best.
    Kentucky fan since 1971.

I thought Ulis was the best pure PG in the country last year. I'm so excited to see Murray. He's gonna flourish this year. I know it's a small sample size, but is he a better shooter than Lamb? Watching him this summer I thought that.

Pretty high praise for a guard.

Not sure about rebounding. Hopefully we won't need too much of that from him.

In the Pan-Am games he struggled defensively at times. Isn't an explosive athlete but he's twitchy. Really works hard offensively off the ball; sort of a Jodie Meeks type in that way.

But defensively I think it'll be a learning process. The players in the Pan-Am were on the whole better--and more mature--than your average college player, but he's going to run up against some guys out on the wing who are going to try to attack him.

The good news is that almost everyone plays a three-guard line-up now. The "pure" SF is like a Yeti at this point in the college game.
