Kam Williams had another surgery on his foot, Mark Pope confirms

At today’s offseason press conference, Mark Pope said that Williams had another surgery on his foot, and that Kentucky hopes to have him for this season.

“He went and had another surgery. He’s progressing great right now, and we have high, high, high confidence that we’ll have him for the season.”

Hope he's back and healthy for the season. The Cats have had more than their share of injuries especially to key players.

"Kentucky hopes to have him for this season."

"Hopes"? I don't like the sound of that.

Not a UK offseason without injury news. Respect he came back for the NCAAT, but that might’ve not been the best move in the long term.

Ive said in the Hampton thread I wasn’t super into him reclassing, but with this news I think I’d go for it. You just never know with foot injuries.

I’m not counting on having Kam or big Franck all season. Both seem to have chronic issues. I expect both to miss games. I’m just hoping we can have them to make a late push in March.

Thank goodness we didn’t get Freeman or we would really be reeling right now.

PER KSR, Kam states that he doesn't expect to miss any games this year. Hope this is true but don't want him to come back too early and re-injure his foot

I had the same thought. JQ was going to be ready for game one as well. Not saying Kam is wrong. But sometimes what these guys say means nada.

Hopefully his foot surgery was just that, a clean up and won't keep him out long like it did Ugo and Bradshaw on the Tre Mitchell team. That was a nightmare.
