Full team living in the Lodge this summer

"The Kentucky Basketball team starts summer practice on Monday, tipping off eight weeks of on-court skill instruction, weight training, conditioning, and off-court bonding. This year, there will be a special emphasis on the latter, with all 14 players living in the Wildcat Coal Lodge this summer, a change from years past. Typically, many of the upperclassmen have their own apartments in Lexington, a perk of the NIL era; that will still be the case when the season starts up, but for now, Mark Pope wants all of his guys, including the multi-millionaires, under one roof."

I think this is a smart move, especially with no foreign trip (more than likely). This should help with the bonding and chemistry of the team, and I am big believer that a lot of that is formed off the court/outside the locker room. Some of my favorite memories were those late nights bs'ing with the boys, and that stuff carried over when it came time to battle for one another.

Sounds like chemistry was an issue last year.

    Hopefully this helps with that.

Seems like a great idea. Pope seems to be pushing the right buttons the last few weeks. Keep it up Coach. Maybe go to the beach more often too.

I think this is great also. Good move by the coach. The players can learn to become brothers On and off the court.

I think it's great for the summer. I wonder how many actually live at the lodge during the season...less than half maybe? Thankful we didn't waste money on upgrading or building a new lodge a few years back prior to guys living in nice places off campus.

Me too, hilarious movie. (wait, wrong Old School)

Jokes aside: Old School moves are sometimes necessary and good to do to create bonds.

Imagine having a team full of young millionaires who live off campus, show up to practice, never see each other again until game time??????? Well maybe not all are millionaires but for the ones' who don't have the good endorsements or deal in place watching their peers on the team live the life while they are struggling, imagine that??????

Point is, it's a great thing they are living together under the same roof... I hope this team will fight for one another on and off the court,,,

I know they all have boatloads of cash and probably want to live a certain lifestyle, but I would 100% take the free lodging and save that money for something else/the future. You get few opportunities in life for free lodging.
