There seems to be a lot of noise that Crawford will be the next assistant coach. Where their’s smoke more often then not there is fire.

That's been the rumor for a while. Brooks and Hart both left but they only added Mo Williams, so the vacancy is still there. I believe Mark Fox's contract is up on June 30th, and with Barnhardt leaving on that same day I have to think there's a chance that maybe we'll see another coach besides Crawford being added to the staff this summer. Cody Fueger's contract is up the same day as Fox, but I don't think there's any concern that he'll be going anywhere.

Crawford and Williams should be massive upgrades from Brooks and Hart, especially on the recruiting trail. Both are well respected in the basketball world.

While you would think that's true, we were pumped about both Brooks and Hart when they were hired. Brooks was supposed to be an ace recruiter, and played that role at Baylor. So....did he just no longer know how to recruit when he came to UK or was it something else?

Those two were pretty much failures as recruiters, so it’s time to try something new.

I'd say. I think I'd go as far as saying they were the worst that Kentucky basketball has probably had since I started following UK during the Hall era

Pope needs his Leonard Hamilton as an assistant. He needs a guy that can coach the defense and to perfection (as close as possible). Someone who knows all defense strategies. Can evaluate the talent they have and come up with a defense and rebounding scheme that maximizes his guys.

Could that be one of the new guys, not sure.

I’d like Crawford to come in and be what Rod Strickland was for Cal early on. Well, you know…without the alcohol. Just really elevate and coach up the guards. Making more guards want to come here.
