    Sick & tired

of all the complaining and belly aching about the President of the University, AD, basketball coach, recruiting and JMI I could just throwing up. I think most mature adults agree, let's just move on. There's nothing the aversage fan can do, even though most think they can. I have friends from across the contry, especially the South and they're laughing at all the unrest within the BBN fandom. A couple think it's beginning to help their recruiting, their beginnig to get visits that use to be a dream. I think it's the portal but they insist termoil is helping them in recruiting.

I’ve been saying this for a while. Starting back when people were calling for Cal’s head. We have been in turmoil pretty much since the 2015 team failed to go undefeated. Since then it’s been all downhill. All the issues boil down to poor management by Barnhart and the powers that be. But what can you do? Sit around and gripe and complain when you have no control over the situation? That will get you nowhere and just adds fuel to the fire.

Best thing to do is to remain as positive as possible.

Currently, Pope is running the show, so we should just support him the best we can and hope for the best. Complaining does nothing. Especially on a message board. No one who matters is listening.

If you really want change and to be heard, quit spending money on UK. Don’t buy tickets. Don’t buy merch. Don’t pay for streaming services. Don’t give any UK related social media any hits. Don’t read articles. Hit them in the pocketbooks, because all most people care about is money. Until you take away the gravy train, it doesn’t matter. Crying doesn’t help. Screaming from the rooftops falls on deaf ears. No. One. Cares.

Except our rivals. Like you said, they love
it. And I believe they troll all these message boards to get BBN fired up. They know how to play the game. I believe most of the “fanbase” that is complaining are actually UofL and other team’s fans trying to stir crap up.

I know for a fact that Cards fans do it. One of my buddies is a Cards fan and he told me he sets up fake accounts and goes in and gets BBN fired up on these message boards with his fake tirades. And then sits back and laughs.

We are so gullible, we just feed off of it. And they laugh at us.

But of course sensible posts like yours will be ignored.

People have long said that UK has the greatest fans in college basketball. From what I've seen lately, we look more like the worst fans. It might be a very vocal minority (or maybe some of them aren't really UK fans), but there seem to be so many people who will bend over backwards to spin every little bit of info into a negative. There seem to be many people actively rooting against our team just so we can get another new coach. I agree with the OP. It's sickening.

Folks we got the player many said we had to have to have a chance at a successful season. It now appears coach Pope has a solid roster to work with. Let's just enjoy the summer and the upcoming fb season (if you're a fb fan) and look forward to the bb season with renewed hope and interest and put the fussing and grumbling aside.

I am excited about Football for the first time in a long time. This has the Hal Mumme vibe all over it but better.

I have never understood the love for Hal Mumme. We had who the NFL thought was the top QB and only won 8 games. I honestly believe we have fans that would rather lose 52-49 than win 17-10.

Because we sucked before Hal Mumme arrived and even though recruiting was weak and defense was non existent, Hal Mumme ball gave us hope and it was exciting. It was the Loyola Marymount of Football..

In the SEC you can have the best QB, Running Back, Tight End, Slot1 and still be lucky to win 8 game if you don"t have a defense.

Back then, they actually let you play football and take the QB's head off.

I can't speak for everyone else but back in high school in the late 80's our number one goal as Players in the locker room was to take the QB's head off and knock him out of the game. That was the Dopamine, the adrenaline, the satisfaction of playing football...

Always happy for Football Season in the Bluegrass!!!!

But for me, I like the info we get over the summer for the basketball and football teams. Every day is UK day for some sort of news. I really hope Pope gets off his bum at the beach and gets a foreign trip and a few games. Heck even a 2 or 3 game short trip to Bahamas or Mexico would be good. Problem is probably the World Cup in US Mexico and Canada. But who knows.

The love for Mumme was because he brought excitement back to the program, not because he was looked at as some great coach. The year before, Curry scored 14, 3, 3, 0, 7, 14 and 14 points in his first 7 games when he was told he wasn't coming back the following season. The love for him was that he brought excitement back.

UK football needs that desperately now and Will Stein seems to be the guy to do that. Let's just hope his on the field success is better than Mumme's.

Oh, I think the program will be much better than it was under coach Mumme. I expect this team to have good def. and special teams play as well as an exciting off.
