    Momcilovic? Or Allen Graves?

Milan Momcilovic's name has been bantered around in this and other forums quite a bit lately. Every Kentucky Wildcats fan knows that name by now. But Allen Graves is NOT someone that we have really heard anything about.

Field of 68 After Dark (due for a name change soon?) put out a video today discussing these two.... and they do bring up a good point. I'd be thrilled with EITHER Momcilovic OR Graves....but how come we literally here NOTHING about Graves???

Here's the video where Fo68AD talk about these two:

You are right, not a lot of discussion on Graves. If I had to speculate, he is hearing what he wants to from the NBA. I searched around and found a recent reddit post where most think he is more than likely staying in the draft. The two college teams that seemed to pop up as possibilities were UK and LSU (home state).

Field of 68 talked like Graves probably goes to LSU (if he stays b college), because they are his home state school and have a boat load of cash and plenty of room. He would definitely get all the touches at LSU since they only currently have 1-2 guys signed.

Momcilovic sounds like our best hope to get an impact guy added to the roster.

If Graves would sign up today then by all means take him and not wait another month to hear from Momcilovic. But if we had our choice between the 2 I’d take Momcilovic—amazing 3 pt percentage on a higher volume. Graves played in a lower conference, had a really good 3 pt percentage (not near Momcilovic’s) but didn’t take that many—actually only made about one per game. A guy who shot 48% from deep while taking a bunch of them is going to make some coach somewhere really happy.

I would be happy with either.

I think I would prefer Momcilovic, BUT.....

IF.... Moreno stays in the draft, I actually think I would prefer Graves. Best case scenario, Moreno returns and Momcilovic commits.

            Agreed.

Rather have Momcilovic. He is probably a better fit with two penetrate and kick guards like Diallo and Wilkins.

I love the idea of Mom and Kam spotting up on the perimeter opening things up for Moreno inside and opening driving lanes for Diallo and Wilkins. Or moving Kam to the 2 (39% from 3) with Mom at the 3 (49% from 3) and McBride at the 4 (40% from 3) which would open up the lane for Diallo or Wilkins to drive. Run the pick and roll with Moreno and get him some dunks on the weak side.

Mom would really fit nicely with the rest of the team. He would not only be a star as a shooter and scorer, but would elevate the rest of the team. He has so much “gravity” in that he demands attention as soon as he crosses halfcourt.
