This wasn't on my 2026 bingo card. I haven't lived in the state for close to 10 years now, but seems like UK could use a complete revamp from top to bottom. Maybe this puts some pressure to hire an outsider as the next AD.

Regarding Beshear's opening line....substitute "the University of Kentucky" with "the Governor's office" and there's a lot of Kentuckians who would agree

He did reference Barnhart's new role (without naming him) as part of his comments, but he wasn't specifically talking completely about athletics, either. It was about the UK Administration in general. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Beshear, I can't really fully oppose his comments.

This is pure politics and has nothing to do with corruption. Crapulato ignored a review board which recommended a Democrat to fill the Law School Chair. Instead he put up a staunch Republican judge for the spot. A judge I might add that is apparently close to the Kraft family. Brashear and several influential Democratic lawyers in the state are furious. IMO he added the stuff about Barnhart to reinforce his case for the president acting inappropriately. Crapulato is exposed here because he DID break precedent in his law school appointment, but I hear he is retiring in June so I'm not sure this will come to much.

Well THANK GOD! Glad that unmitigated disaster was avoided. Beshear actually may have finally had a positive effect on something involving Kentucky!
